11 - Actinomycosis of the gallbladder: Report of two cases

Actinomycosis is a chronic suppurative disease which is characterised by abscess, fistula and sulphur granules. Cervicofacial region is the most common localization, other sites are thoracic, abdominal and pelvic regions. Gallbladder involvement by actinomyces is very rare and only 19 cases have been reported. Two cases of actinomycosis of the gallbladder are presented in this paper.
